As a native Floridian, I know the importance of learning how to swim. My parents enrolled my sisters in I in swimming lessons every year. I’ll never forget the day that I felt confident enough to swim on my own without fear. Learning how to swim isn’t just useful for when it’s time to jump in a pool or head to the ocean. Learning how to swim is a great confidence booster. It feels great knowing that you can safely move about in a large body of water. Learning how to swim can help you feel fearless and it opens up so many doors, especially while traveling. We have 3 other reasons why we think you should learn how to swim this summer
Because it’s a great workout. – It’s true and we think your doctor would agree. Even those with physical limitations and injuries are able to workout better in the water than they are at the gym. Swimming burns a ton of calories and I often feel as if I get a better workout swimming than I do spending an hour at the gym. Doing a few laps in a pool is challenging but it can also be relaxing.
Because it can save your life. – Even if you come from an area where swimming isn’t an everyday or seasonal pastime, you never know what kind of trips you may take in the future. Learning how to swim is useful for little ones and adults alike because you don’t want to be on the sidelines at the edge of the pool while everyone else kicks and screams in delight.
Because it’s fun. – Let’s face it, splashing around in the water is a blast. No one visits the beach without getting in the water. There is just something captivating about sparkling blue water on a hot summer day. Swimming is a fantastic pastime for many because it’s just a lot of fun.
