Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love. Whether you’re celebrating with your significant other, or a special someone who holds the key to your heart, Valentine’s Day is the holiday to celebrate the love you share with that person. There are various plans that can be made to celebrate this day. Some go away on vacations, while others enjoy staying at home and relaxing.
Whichever you choose to do, it’s best to avoid these 5 least romantic Valentine’s Day destinations. Not only are these places unromantic, they’re also creepy, boring and a little odd. If you want to show your love for someone, do NOT take them anywhere near the following destinations:
1. Alcatraz Island, San Francisco, CA
Alcatraz is the type of interesting destination you’d love to visit the rest of the year, but somehow it’s makes a pretty lousy Valentine’s Day date location. Save the prison tour for another time and skip Alcatraz this February 14!
2. Mount Rushmore, Keystone, SD
Mount Rushmore is one of the best of our nation’s National Memorials. But don’t you think it’s a little awkward to share a romantic kiss with our forefathers looking on? It may be awesome, but it’s not exactly private!
3. Magic Kingdom Theme Park, Orlando, FL
Walt Disney World may be the most magical place on earth, but there’s nothing like thousands of strangers to make your Valentine’s Day more romantic. Not to mention the high potential for temper tantrums and long lines.
4. Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia
This Savannah, Georgia landmark is one of the most popular places to visit in the history city. Although a stroll below the Spanish moss sounds romantic at first, you may want to rethink this one. Valentine’s Day should be far more focused on life than the afterlife.
5. Death Valley National Park, California
Although this is one of the most beautiful of our nation’s National Parks, your significant other might be a little thrown off by the name! Save Death Valley for another day of the year.
