Summer is almost here! Finally, right? For a while it looked like Mother Nature was playing jokes on us by prolonging chilly weather. But whether you’re on the East Coast or West Coast, down South or in the midwest, we’re pretty sure that the temps are getting warmer. This calls for a celebration! We’ve got 5 ways to quickly celebrate Spring before Summer gets here.
Plant some flowers – You don’t have to have a green thumb to grab a pot and plant a beautiful array of flowers. If you’re like some of the Drive the Nation kids and don’t exactly have a yard, find some beautiful flowers and plants that can thrive inside. We love daffodils and daisies!
Update the wardrobe – Time to put away the bulky jackets and sweaters. If you aren’t in love with your Spring clothes from last year, treat yourself to a shopping trip to get some basics. On a budget and don’t want to break the bank? We love thrift stores for unique finds and bargains.
Start planning trips – But we would say that, wouldn’t we? We wouldn’t be Drive the Nation if we didn’t! Spring is the perfect time to start planning summer vacations. But don’t wait too long to do this. Travelers are steadily booking throughout these Spring months and you want to be sure that you score your plane tickets and hotel accommodations before they are sold out.
Clean the house – We don’t mean a simple sweet through of the house. We mean, CLEAN. That’s right, get on your hands and knees and scrub those baseboards. Organize the pantry. Donate clothes that don’t fit to Goodwill. Been thinking about painting the living room? Pull out the paint and hop to it. Nothing says Spring like spring cleaning!
Go site seeing – If you’re like us, you may find Spring to be inspiring. With the greenery, beautiful flowers and warm weather, the last place many people want to be in stuck indoors. If you aren’t quite ready to plan a vacay, go site seeing in your own town. Visit a community garden or lake and take in the scenic views. Staycations not only save money but they give you a greater appreciation of your surroundings.
