The best thing about traveling is knowing that you don’t really have to go anywhere to experience the thrills. Sometimes fantasizing about trekking up the mountains in Hawaii is all it takes to put a smile across your face. Even if you’ve never seen snow, daydreaming about spending a few wintery nights in a lodge up in Montana is almost as fun as physically being in that lodge. Of course nothing actually beats being in the city you want to be in but when you can’t make it just yet, why not create a travel bucket list? Planning a trip, while exciting, can also be daunting. Planning a trip that you aren’t going to take for years, however, can be more fun because you have the time to draw out where you’d like to go and what you’d like to do.
Make it visual.
Sometimes you really do have to see it to believe it. There’s a big world out there and a lot of times the only way to realize that is by looking at a map or globe. Put one up somewhere in your house and pinpoint the areas that you want to visit. This will help keep your vision of wanting to travel alive. Also, if you’re a lover of Pinterest, create a board for each of the places that you’d like to visit.
Do it with a friend.
Are you the type that enjoys traveling with friends? Get them in on the travel bucket list as well! Spend a weekend or so a month planning out where you’d like to go and what activities you’d like to participate in. Having someone else share the same passion that you do can make maintaining the list fun and exciting.
Blog about it.
Are you a writer at heart? Why not take your travel dreams and wishes to the World Wide Web? Blog about them! Let your friends and family members know how you’re planning your trips, where you plan to go and have them leave suggestions for you. Blogging about your travel bucket list is a great way to create a community of fellow travel lovers.
