If you find yourself stuck with trying to figure out some ways of how you can get around and be a little bit more active, I’m here to help!
Take Breaks
There is nothing good about sitting for hours at a time. While it may be inevitable, if you can, get up and take a walk. Be it to your car and make or around your office, be sure to get your blood flowin’. I find that I have more energy and work better when I take breaks every few hours. Even if it’s just standing up at my desk and stretching my legs, those few seconds do a lot. If you have a hard time remembering when to take breaks, set a timer on your watch or phone to remind you to get up.
Track Your Progress
Sometimes I tend to work harder at being more physically fit when I have a constant reminder. Tools such as the Fit Bit and the Nike Fuel Band are great because they have built-in pedometers that tell you how many steps you’ve taken each day. Set a goal for yourself each day and work towards achieving it.
The Buddy System
Be it a coworker, family member, or friend, sometimes having someone on your team when it comes to attempting to be more active can make all of the difference. Having someone to hold you accountable ensures that you won’t slack off. Positive reinforcement can come in handy on those days when you just don’t feel like moving. Our favorite form of positive reinforcement? We love “You can do it!”s.

Different Forms Of Exercise
Many people stick with the same exercise routine because it’s comfortable for them. Why not challenge yourself a bit? If you enjoy walking, try riding a bike. If working out a home via DVD is your thing, try dropping in on a Zumba class. If you prefer light aerobics, give yoga a whirl. Different forms of exercise can work out various parts of your body as well as give you a reason to look forward to working out.
Reward Yourself
Been itching to get a new pair of shoes or treat yourself to your favorite restaurant? Go for it! After all, you’ve committed to being more active. If you’ve completed your daily activity goals, rewarding yourself at the end of the week just makes sense.
