The world is your oyster at Legal Sea Foods’ annual Oyster Festival, which celebrates the most-slurp-worthy bivalve over the course of four weeks. Legal Sea Food has been a trusted purveyor of fresh seafood to Massachusetts and beyond since 1950.

The oyster newbie, those on the fence about ingesting something that could be described as “slimy,” and the seasoned shucker, shouldn’t discount just how fantastic oysters can be for your body. They’re vitamin powerhouses, high in essential nutrients like vitamins A, E, C, and B12. They have more contain more zinc than any other food and also provide calcium and iron. This means they’re good for your heart, your immune system, and they can help you lose weight and have more energy!

Oyster Specials
Fried oysters come 3 for $10, and include mouthwatering combinations like the Buffalo Oyster with blue cheese, celery hearts, and radish, or the Sriracha Lime Oyster with smoky roasted corn salsa and crispy shallots.
Three baked oysters are available for $12, and you’ll have to choose between the Roasted Oyster with smoked chorizo butter and fresh herbs, the decadent, double-seafood Lobster Spinach Oyster with cheese and herbed crumbs, and the Oyster Scampi smother in shrimp–garlic butter and white wine, among others.
And for the oyster purists, the raw bar is stocked with briny bites from Maine, Washington, and Massachusetts, all available at market price. To wash it all down, try the official festival cocktail, the Skiff, a combination of Absolut Vodka, aromatized wine, lemon, botanicals, and celery bitters, designed to pair perfectly with the star of the show.
