Now that January is here, we are well into the depths of winter. And for those who live in cold weather climates, a trip to a warm climate is desperately needed this time of year.
It always helps when in the middle of winter to have a nice warm vacation to look forward to, and by placing a vacation right around the middle of January, it can really help to break up the winter season.
While it is always great to find destinations that allow us to hit the slopes, go snowshoeing and sledding, sometimes a little bit of sun and warmth is exactly what you need to get through the season.

Miami, Florida
Of course when thinking of places to escape the cold, there are few better than Florida and Miami is the best hot spot of all.

San Diego, California
On the opposite coast, San Diego is one of the few places in the United States that provides amazing weather just about every single day of the year.
Head out to the incredible beaches and play beach volleyball, surf or stand up paddleboard as the sun sets over the city, a beautiful way to spend a winter day. For a fantastic beach experience try Sunset Cliffs or Black’s Beach.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Looking for a winter hot spot to party? New Orleans has to be your first destination. This time of year is Mardi Gras season and the city comes alive.
To truly experience the best that New Orleans has to offer wander around Bourbon Street and enjoy the people watching. For a snack, you must stop into Cafe du Monde for their world famous beignets.
